China's 2019 import & export tax adjustment has few impact on stainless steel exports

It was reported that the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council of China has issued a notice on the adjustment plan for the provisional tax rate for import and export in 2019.
Since January 1st, 2019, the import and export tariffs for some commodities have been adjusted. The main stainless steel products related were mainly chromium-manganese product (200 series stainless steel) based on headed with tariff code 7219.
The export volume of chromium-manganese stainless steel coils accounted for less than 10% of the total stainless steel exports, and the proportion of other stainless steel products involved in the tax rate adjustment was less than 5%. Therefore, this tax rate adjustment had little effect on stainless steel exports.
